Dear Parents,
It seems hard to believe, but we are nearing the end of another basketball season. I hope that you and your child have had a good experience so far. As long as there are no weather postponements, we will be finishing up the regular season on Saturday, March 20th. We will be starting our tournament on Sunday, March 21st. The tournament will run for about a week, and all teams will play in the tournament. The tentative dates are: Sunday March 21st, Monday March 22nd, Wednesday March 24th, Saturday March 27th and Sunday March 28th. Times will be announced as we get closer to the end of the regular season. Please feel free to check our website (www.whfb.org) for updates. As in the past, our tournament will be played at Mackrille School, located on the corner of Jones Hill Road and Chase lane.
The 2010 tournament will showcase our 4th annual “graduate game.” This game will be played before the championship game on the last day of our tournament. All graduates will be invited to participate. We hope that this will be a fun and memorable game for all players that choose to play. Immediately following the game, each graduate will be presented with a graduate plaque.
We will be creating a team roster booklet for the tournament as well. Each booklet will include the name of each child on a team, and a spot for parents, other family members, and friends to post a note to a player, or a player’s team. We ask that you make a donation of $10 to the league if you would like to include a message in our booklet. This donation will go toward uniform shirts that the league will be getting for all graduates participating in the graduate game. Please fill out the attached form so that we can assure that the spelling of your child’s name is correct.
Please fill out the form even if you aren’t going to put a booster in the booklet. This will ensure we have your son’s name spelled correctly. All form must be handed in no later than March 6, 2010. There will be a box located at the scorers table of both Seth Haley and Washington Gym beginning Saturday February 13, 2010.
As always, if there are any questions or concerns, I am always available to talk on Saturday mornings at the games, or you can reach me at 641 – 5299.
Thank you for your continued support.
