Kobe Provides Electricity for Hoosiers
Tom & Pat’s Pizza Running Rebels moved to 2-1 with a 32-10 win over the Kelly Construction Scarlet Knights. The Rebels were led by Joseph Smith with 8 points, followed by Trevon Smith’s 6, and Seth Noble’s 4. The Knights Chase Quoka and Finn Geagan-Chavez each scored a basket in the loss. The Knights will look for their first win after the break.
The Zuppardi’s Hoosiers kept in front of the Rebels with a convincing win over the A-Plus Plumbing Green Machine. Kobe Watts scored a career high 16, while Mike Consorte finished with 5. The Green Machine’s Jack Malerea scored 4, James Jackson finished the day with 6, and Jason Settle led the team in rebounds.
The Carmody Landscape Cowboys will also go undefeated into the break after beating the previously undefeated Johnnies Grille Hoyas 21-4. For the Hoyas Joe Desisto and Eli Blackwell each scored 2 points. The Cowboys saw six players score including Macho Martinez and Johann Greene each with 5. The Cowboys were led by John McFadden with 6 points. The Hoyas are now 2-1.
The Baybrook Remodelers Wildcats, another 3-0 team, defeated the Sandy’s Kitchen Tar Heels 29-13. The Tar Heels who are 1-2, were led by Dale Pantry with 6, Jordan Saniford, John Taurchini, and Isiah Wyatt each had a basket. The Wildcats Jawon Hicks scored 7, followed by Mielia Uzun 6, and Derek baker 4.
The defending champions, West Haven Drug and Alcohol Task Force Friars, also moved 3-0. Tamarko Oaks led the Friars with 15, while Bryce Sebastian added 2 points and eight assists. Adding to the Friars scoring was Tyler Jones with 6 and Branon Sulle 2. The Saley Service Eagles J’Quan Clarke, Jaden Shirden, and Brian Carew each scored.
The Wizard Painting Yellow Jackets lost to the West Haven Italian American Association Huskies 12-2. The Jackets now 0-3 got their basket from Josph Hawkins, while Austin Granta played tough defensively. The Huskies Alec Kinder and Hunter Axelrod led the team with 4 apiece. James Weber and Douglas Guilford each added a bucket. The team effort moved the Huskies into the win column at 1-2.
The Nutmeg Sportswear Tigers (1-2) beat the Bender Showroom Blue Devils 13-5. The Devils Ryan Robinson scored all five, Jason Heon and Thomas Mazzara each had an assist. Matthew Moddy led the Devils on defense. The Tigers Chris Wrzosek had 3, Dante Talamelli 4, and Jayden Johnson 2.
